Messages the user types while the agent is mid-turn are not reliably shown or delivered (user: "all my messages disappear")

Project Integration_v1, agent PM MASTER_A (agent-1789346424448-zn6rxk), Claude provider, 2026-10-14 and 2026-10-15.

What happened: the user typed answers to four questions ("A-D") into this agent's tab on 2026-10-14 while the agent was in a turn. Those answers never reached the agent: no user message with that content exists in the session transcript (0e0b3d0b-383f-4bdc-a418-701d22908c27.jsonl under claude-profiles/cp-1788878599440-05k6u6), and the agent had to re-issue the questions. Other messages typed mid-turn do arrive, merged into the running turn next to a tool result rather than as their own turn, and the user reports they then do not appear in the conversation view ("all my messages disappear", 2026-10-15 about 06:10Z).

Expected: every message typed into a tab is persisted and shown in the conversation view as its own user bubble, and delivered to the agent (as a new turn when idle, as a mid-turn message when busy), with no loss.

Repro: open a Claude agent tab, start a long turn (several tool calls), type two or three short messages while it runs, then compare the conversation view and the session jsonl with what was typed.

Hi Shaheen, we need a little more detail to tell whether your messages are missing from the conversation view or are not reaching Claude.

For one message that disappeared, could you tell us:

  • Did you type it in the AgentsRoom message box or directly in the terminal? Were you using the conversation view or terminal view?
  • What did you send, approximately when (including timezone), and did Claude respond to or act on it?
  • Did the message remain visible anywhere, such as the terminal or input box?

A short screen recording showing you send a harmless example while Claude is working would help. If possible, also share the relevant excerpt of the session history around that example, with private information removed; we don't have access to the session file mentioned in your report.

We're keeping the ticket pending while we gather these details.
