Let agents delete saved agents via MCP (agents_delete) and add bulk delete across projects

From yelkamelDone 3 days ago

I replaced my custom agents layou-dev and layou-design with new -v2 versions and wanted to remove the old ones from all my projects (30 open projects).

My personal assistant agent could find every old agent via projects_list + agents_list({ project }), but it could not remove any of them: no MCP tool deletes a saved agent (agents_close keeps saved agents, agents_save does not cross projects). The only way is clicking Delete on each card, project by project, in the desktop app.

The same scan also surfaced many accidental duplicates (e.g. 4x layou-dev-v2 in one project, several in others), which are just as tedious to clean up by hand.

Request:

  1. An MCP agents_delete({ project, agentId }) tool, gated by explicit user confirmation like other destructive actions.
  2. In the app, a multi-select / bulk delete for agents, ideally "delete every agent named X across all projects".

AgentsRoom diagnostics

  • App version: 1.190.0
  • OS: darwin 25.6.0 (arm64)
  • Agent CLI: claude
  • App language: system

Problem to solve

Retiring an agent version across many projects requires one manual Delete click per agent per project; agents can list them but cannot remove them.

Proposed behavior

MCP agents_delete (with user confirmation) plus bulk/multi-select delete in the app, including by name across projects.

Who benefits

Users with many projects who reuse the same custom agents everywhere and iterate on versions.

Acceptance criteria

Ask the assistant 'remove old layou-dev everywhere' and it is done in one confirmation instead of dozens of clicks.

This will be available in the next version.

Your assistant can now delete saved agents itself. Ask it something like "remove the old layou-dev everywhere": it finds every agent with that exact name across the projects open in AgentsRoom (layou-dev never matches layou-dev-v2), and shows you one confirmation card listing them all. One click deletes the whole list, and the same card appears on your phone too. If you decline or don't answer, nothing is deleted.

In the app, you can do it without an agent: the eraser button above the agent list > "Delete agents in all projects". It lists every saved agent of your open projects, grouped by name. Tick a name to remove it from every project, or use "Select duplicates" to keep only the most recently used copy in each project. Right-click an agent > "Delete in all projects" opens the same window with that agent already ticked.

If it's not quite what you had in mind, tell us and we'll adjust it.
