Every quota refresh (automatic or manual) plays the quota-reset sound

From Holm RichterDone 3 days agovia agent-mcp

Since this morning, AgentsRoom plays an alert sound on every quota refresh, every few seconds and sometimes several times per second. It is the same sound as the "quota is back / you can code again" reset notification.

It also happens on a manual refresh of a single provider. Example: Grok has a single weekly bar at 83 %. It did not reach 90 % in the current window and did not reset, so no reset alert should fire for it.

With usageAlerts.resets set to false, the sound stops immediately, while all other usage alerts stay enabled. So the reset-announcement path fires on every refresh, although no bar has reset.

The behaviour started suddenly, roughly at 10:14 local time on 19.10.2026. Version 1.221.1 was installed on 18.10. Other active usage-alert settings: thresholds 50/75/90, desktop + phone on, in-app off.

AgentsRoom diagnostics

  • App version: 1.221.1
  • OS: win32 10.0.26200 (x64)
  • Agent CLI: claude
  • App language: system

Expected behavior

A refresh with no threshold crossing and no reset is silent.

Actual behavior

Every refresh plays the reset alert sound, with several sounds per second while multiple agents are active.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Keep usage alerts enabled with resets: true (default). 2) Open the Usage panel. 3) Manually refresh the Grok gauge (weekly bar at 83 %, no reset). 4) The reset sound plays on every refresh.

Version or build

1.221.1 (Windows 11)

Fixed, available in the next version. Cause: when one of your quota gauges had an outdated reading from the previous window arriving next to a fresh one, the app took each switch between the two for a brand new window and announced "quota reset" again, on every refresh of any provider. Outdated readings are now ignored, each gauge is checked once per refresh, and the reset notice cannot repeat for the same gauge within an hour. If the sound still plays on refresh after this update, please reopen the ticket with as much detail as possible (a screenshot or video helps).

Thanks: the bug is fixed and the fix ships in the next release. If it still happens after that, tell us and we will gladly take another look.
