With conversationToolCalls set to hide, the chat still renders harness text that the CLI attaches to tool results and to the model's turn, for example: "Only you see that command's output — the user's terminal shows at most a few lines of it. If the user needs to read any of it, put it in your reply.", "<total_tokens>14884118 tokens left</total_tokens>", "The user hasn't heard from you in a while — say in a few words what you're doing, then continue.", and the same mid-turn status line repeated twice. The user sees these as noise between the agent's real messages. Expected: when tool calls are hidden, every system-reminder / harness annotation that rides on a tool result or on a user turn is hidden too, and a status line the model writes once is shown once. Reproduce: Claude Code (Fable) agent in AgentsRoom with tool calls hidden, any turn with several Bash tool calls; the lines above appear in the transcript pane. Reported by SPA 2026-10-14 ~23:1xZ in the PM MASTER_A chat (agent-1789346424448-zn6rxk, session 0e0b3d0b-383f-4bdc-a418-701d22908c27): "why am i seeing all this extra info now even tho i have tool calls hidden rn" and "can we run our own filter to get rid of all this extra shit?". Ask: a renderer-side filter that strips system-reminder blocks, total_tokens tags and the "Only you see that command's output" / "The user hasn't heard from you" harness lines from the chat view when tool calls are hidden (or always), plus de-duplication of a repeated model status line.
The tool filter was hiding tool calls, but some internal reminders were being treated as ordinary chat messages. We’ve prepared a fix to remove those reminders and token counters, and to show consecutive duplicate agent updates only once, on desktop and mobile. It will apply after the update containing this fix. If the issue persists then, please reopen this ticket with as much detail as possible; a screenshot or video helps a lot.
