ask_user MCP call times out after 30 s with unknown outcome

From cv4everDone 5 days agovia agent-mcp

From an oh-my-pi (omp) agent session, a call to the AgentsRoom-MCP ask_user tool (a context string and 2 single-choice questions, 3 options each) failed with the MCP client error "Request timeout after 30000ms" (stage: receive, retryable: no, outcome unknown). The agent could not tell whether the card was shown, so it fell back to its CLI's own question dialog. ask_user is documented to return pending when the user has not answered yet; it should return within the client timeout instead of blocking.

Expected behavior

ask_user returns pending (or answered) well within the MCP client's 30 s request timeout.

Actual behavior

MCP client timeout after 30000 ms; outcome unknown.

Steps to reproduce

  1. omp agent in an AgentsRoom project. 2) Call ask_user with a context string and 2 questions of 3 options. 3) Leave the card unanswered for 30 s.

Thanks for the precise report, this will be fixed in the next version. oh-my-pi cuts any tool call after 30 seconds, but AgentsRoom did not know it and kept the question waiting for 45 seconds; it now hands back "pending" after about 20 seconds for oh-my-pi, the card stays open, and a later answer reaches the agent as a message. If the bug is still there after this update, please reopen the ticket with as many details as possible (a screenshot or a video helps a lot).
