Desktop opens Grok, Copilot and OpenAI sign-in prompts on launch for a Claude-only user

From lothlannDone 5 days ago

A new user who only wants to use Claude Code reports that, when opening the desktop app, it kept opening sign-in prompts for Grok, GitHub Copilot and OpenAI, services they never asked to connect. They read it as the app "taking steps they did not expect", and it made them doubt the app is contained enough for their setup (projects on a dev VM, used instead of many tmux windows).

Expected: launching the app never starts a sign-in flow for a provider the user did not choose. A provider CLI that is installed but not signed in should at most show a passive "Not signed in" state in Settings, never open a login window or browser tab by itself.

Known context: a similar loop was fixed on 2026-10-12 for Antigravity (installed but not signed in, the app kept opening "Sign in with Google" tabs). The same pattern may exist for other providers (usage probes or startup checks of Codex, Grok, Copilot).

OS, app version and which CLIs are installed were not given.

Done when: on a machine where Grok, Copilot and Codex are installed but not signed in, launching AgentsRoom and creating a Claude agent opens no sign-in prompt for any other provider.

Thanks for telling us, this will be fixed in the next version. To show usage limits, the app briefly started the Grok and Codex tools in the background, and when they were not signed in they opened their own sign-in page; the app now checks first and never starts a tool that is not signed in. If you still see sign-in prompts after this update, please reopen the ticket with as many details as possible (a screenshot or a video helps a lot).
