Thanks for the report. This is already fixed in version 1.220.0: when the recipient ends its turn on a question to you, the message now waits for your answer by default (focusing the tab no longer releases it by mistake), and a new setting in Settings > Agents lets you deliver it anyway after a number of minutes without an answer. If the problem is still there in 1.220.0 or later, please reopen the ticket with as many details as possible (a screenshot or a video helps a lot).
Agent-to-agent messages stay queued until the recipient's tab is focused
From MikkelDone 5 days agovia agent-mcp
A message sent with agents_send to an agent whose runtime is waiting_input stays in state queued (agents_message_status: "no console free to take a notice"). It is only delivered when the user switches into the recipient's tab, even though the recipient's turn has ended. Expected: delivery as soon as the agent is idle, without the tab needing focus. Seen 17 Oct 2026, several times, with cross-project messages between Claude Code agents.
AgentsRoom diagnostics
- App version: 1.209.0
- OS: linux 6.8.0-147-generic (x64)
- Agent CLI: claude
- App language: system
Expected behavior
A message to an agent whose turn has ended is delivered as soon as the agent is idle, whether or not its tab is focused.
Actual behavior
agents_message_status stays queued with recipientRuntime waiting_input for minutes; the message is delivered the moment the user opens the recipient's tab.
Steps to reproduce
- Agent A in project X sends agents_send to agent B in project Y while B's tab is not in focus and B has finished its turn. 2) agents_message_status shows
queued/waiting_inputfor minutes. 3) User opens B's tab: the message arrives immediately.
