Let custom MCP servers be attached to every agent like native servers

From Rob ZappDone 1 month ago

A user built custom MCP servers that work correctly when configured manually, but AgentsRoom has no way to register them so they get attached to every agent automatically the way the built-in AgentsRoom-MCP bundle does. Today, custom MCP servers must be declared per-CLI (e.g. Claude Code's .mcp.json) and are not managed or replicated by AgentsRoom across agents or projects. The "Connections" feature on an agent only covers SSH, database and dev-command connections, not arbitrary MCP servers.

AgentsRoom diagnostics

  • App version: 1.173.0
  • OS: darwin 25.6.0 (arm64)
  • App language: system

Problem to solve

Custom MCP servers work but aren't available to every agent automatically, unlike native AgentsRoom MCP servers

Proposed behavior

Add a way to register a custom MCP server once (account or project level) so it's attached to every agent, the same way native servers are

Thanks: your idea is implemented and ships in the next release. We built it the way we pictured it, so if the result is not what you had in mind, tell us and we will adjust it.
